Industry 4.0

 

As part of the Government of Tamil Nadu’s initiatives to enhance technical education, a major project has been undertaken to transform Government Polytechnic Colleges into Centres of Excellence aligned with industry standards. As part of this initiative, an Industry 4.0 Building has been established at Government Polytechnic College for Women, Coimbatore.

On 16.02.2026, under the leadership of the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, Thiru. M. K. Stalin, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed with Tata Technologies, marking the launch of an initiative to upgrade technical education to Industry 4.0 standards.

Through this initiative, students are provided training in emerging technologies such as Automation, Robotics, Artificial Intelligence, and Digital Manufacturing. The project provides students with opportunities to acquire industry-relevant skills through practical and hands-on training. This initiative is expected to enhance students’ Industry Readiness and Employability Skills, preparing them to meet the evolving requirements of the industrial sector.
