The Government Polytechnic College for Women was started,Coimbatore in 1964 under the Third Five-year plan for the benefit of women students of Coimbatore and neighboring districts. Our institution was originally housed in Government College of Technology campus. At the time of establishment there were only two courses (VIZ) Diploma in Civil Engineering (Structural) and National Diploma in Commercial Practice.
In 1969, Our Polytechnic college was shifted to the present premises located in Siddhapudur.The area of campus is 4.05 hectares have spacious Lecture Halls, Exam Hall, Drawing Hall, fully equipped laboratories, workshop and Library. Also, we provide excellent Sports amenities too. At present our Institution offers three-year Diploma courses under eight disciplines.
