2. QUALIFICATION FOR ADMISSION
Pass in S.S.L.C. or X standard of Tamil Nadu High Schools by the Director of School Education / Secondary Education Board, Tamilnadu.

A.EDUCATIONAL ELIGIBILITIES S.S.L.C Pass or equivalent qualifications recognised by the lor of Tamil nadu school education.

B.ELIGIBILITY OF MARK
According to the G.O. No.1/Higher education (B2) Department, 2.01.2002 the released mark eligibility to admission for the Diploma Courses in the academic year 2002-2003, is pass in the S.S.L.C Examination. Hence, to get admission in the first year Engineering nnd Modern Office Practice, the students should have passed atleast with the minimum marks.

5. RULES FOR DIPLOMA COURSES

5.1  COURSE DURATION
The Course for the Full Time Diploma in Engineering shall extended over a period of three academic years, consisting of 6 semesters and the First Year is comman to all Engineering Branches.
5.2  ELIGIBILITIES   TO   GET     THE   CONSOLIDATED CERTIFICATE
The Diplome will be awarded only if the students had passed in all the subjects after studying a course of period of not less than  three years in a Polytechnic College which functions under the control of Tamil Nadu state Technical Education and training board.
5.3  SYLLABUS
First year Engineering section subjects for all Engineering Branches like(Civil, Mechanical, Electronics and Communication, Instrumentation & Control, Computer Engineering, Garment Technology) are common. Second year onwards the subjects will taught respective to the branches of study.

Theory and practical classes will be taught according to syllabus finalised by the Director of Technical Education.

5.4 EXAMS AND ATTENDANCE

The examinations shall be conducted at the end of each semester  by the State Board of Technical Education and Training, Tamil Nadu. A candidate will permitted to appear for the Board  Examination if,
a. She secures 80% of attendance in the concerned semester.
b. She earns a progress certificate in studies from the Head of the institution for having satisfactorily completed the course of study prescribed as required by the regulations and
c.  Her conduct is satisfactory.

6. ELIGIBILITY FOR PASS
The students will be announced as passed if only they score not less than 40% in theory and 50% in practical

7. CLASSIFYING THE PASSED STUDENTS
a. Except the first year in other semesters if they had passed all the subjects with 75% of marks and above out of the Total mark, by making only one attempt within the period of 3 will be announced that they passed in first class with Honours.
b. Except the first year in other semesters of the students had passed by scoring 60% and above, all the subjects including the first year subjects within the period of 3 years, will be announced as the first class mark getter.
c. Other students who have passed will be announced as they passed in second class.

WORKING HOURS
The class working hours are from 9.15 AM to 1.15 PM forenoon session and 2.00 PM to 5.00 PM

 

Canada India Institutional Co-operation Project has been functioning in this institution from 1996. This scheme has been started for the Development of Technical Education and for the development of polytechnics. This scheme has been started by an agreement between India and Canada. The major motto of this scheme is to get the students developed as well as the society by using the facilities available according to the changing social and technical changes.

Canada India Scheme Manager Thiru.Barrie.J. Saxton inaugurated the Canada India Institutional Co-operation Project in December 1996 in our Institution On the same day the continuing education cell was also started!"
